Expressive Drawing with Penny Somerville                        Wednesday 10 - 12.30

The course is especially for those who would like to draw but are terrified, think they ‘can’t’ and also for those with a bit more experience but would like push their drawing further. The workshops will build up confidence in mark making with a series of fun exercises and a bit ‘outside the box’. The emphasis will be on ‘process’ rather than ‘outcome’.  The drawings might not be ‘representational’ but we will always start by observing and looking at objects, and hopefully we will bring more of ourselves into the work, more of our own creativity, and more enjoyment.

Simple materials will be provided – charcoal, pencils, chalk, ink, etc. Good quality paper is available to purchase at the Art Centre.  Please bring favourite drawing tools, as well as an open mind and willingness to explore and please wear clothes that don’t mind getting messy.
